Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a technical lead or team lead capacity.
  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript in strict mode and modern cloud-native architectures, including containerized microservices, serverless, and event-driven patterns.
  • Strong experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, SQS, S3, RDS/Aurora, and Bedrock, or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools as a core part of daily engineering work.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Prisma or similar object-relational mapping tools, and RESTful API design.
  • Ability to take vague requirements, build working prototypes rapidly, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Experience working with and holding external vendors or contract developers accountable.
Responsibilities
  • Own the technical direction, delivery, and operational health of the squad's product area.
  • Write production code daily, contributing to critical-path features, core libraries, and infrastructure.
  • Rapidly prototype new capabilities, validate approaches, and lead the squad through production hardening.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and local large language models, and establish effective usage patterns for the squad.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical plans.
  • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery commitments for the squad.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, review feedback, and clear standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Own the squad's continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline, deployment process, production monitoring, automated testing, build pipelines, and observability tooling.
  • Manage and hold accountable external development partners contributing to the squad's codebase.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and other Squad Leads on shared libraries, platform infrastructure, security standards, and engineering-wide processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building multi-tenant software-as-a-service platforms, particularly in regulated industries such as healthcare, government, or legal.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA technical safeguards, FedRAMP security controls, or equivalent compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with real-time communication platforms such as Twilio, WebRTC, or SIP, or language services technology including over-the-phone interpretation, video remote interpretation, or translation pipelines.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning integration, particularly large-language-model-powered features, prompt engineering, or AI workflow orchestration using platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Claude, or OpenAI.
  • Familiarity with Nx monorepos, Fastify, React 18 or later, and modern frontend tooling such as Vite, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui.
  • Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Sentry, or equivalent observability platforms.
