Requirements
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in premium or luxury fashion retail management, or within a similar high-end retail environment.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing, motivating, and developing large teams, including supervisors and team leaders.
  • Strong customer service expertise, with a deep understanding of client expectations and an established local client network.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales performance, achieving targets, and managing budgets and inventory.
  • Excellent product knowledge, including brands, fashion trends, materials, and market positioning.
  • A solid understanding of retail operations, including merchandising, stock control, and loss prevention.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all areas of the business.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, navigate challenges, and resolve conflicts effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the commercial success of the store and drive store performance.
  • Identify key opportunities to enhance performance in line with current trends.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Analyse data and key performance indicators to make informed commercial decisions and drive key performance indicators.
  • Be responsible for the store and team's performance.
  • Lead and inspire the store team by providing guidance, coaching, and support.
  • Work closely with the Store Manager, acting on feedback and working towards targets and deadlines.
  • Build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify future talent within the store and plan and support their personal development and progression.
  • Train, coach, and upskill the store team to maximise opportunities for future progression within the business.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Support other stores within the area with store operations as required.
  • Use business communication tools to drive task completion and ensure the team understands all key functions.
  • Support the Store Manager in driving performance in line with retail priorities to meet business objectives.
  • Monitor and achieve store-level key performance indicators, including sales targets, company incentives, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure weekly wage controls are met and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Make effective decisions to drive solutions to operational challenges.
  • Control stock movement, run accurate store audits, and implement visual standards according to company guidelines.
  • Oversee a team of Retail Managers and Sales Advisors within the store.
  • Lead floor walks with luxury brands, manage the store's stock package with head office teams, and run training sessions to increase the team's product knowledge.

Harvey Nichols exits Ireland as Dublin store closes amid $31.6M debt

Harvey Nichols is closing its only store in Ireland after the Dublin business was placed in liquidation. The store, located in Dundrum Town Centre, is expected to cease trading on 13 September, affecting 33 employees. The closure follows years of financial difficulties. The Dublin business had net liabilities of €28.2 million ($32.7 million) by the end of its 2026 financial year and annual rent of nearly €1.1 million ($1.3 million). Liquidators were unable to reach an agreement with the shopping centre to continue operating. The move comes shortly after Frasers Group acquired Harvey Nichols through a pre-pack administration in August. However, the Dublin business remained separate from that transaction. Harvey Nichols will no longer have a physical presence in Ireland.

Frasers Group acquires Harvey Nichols, plans restructuring after $226M operating loss

Frasers Group has acquired luxury department store Harvey Nichols from administrators FTI Consulting. The deal includes six UK stores, online operations, franchise agreements, and over 1,000 employees. The acquisition covers Harvey Nichols' Knightsbridge flagship and locations in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Edinburgh. All stores will continue trading, alongside international franchise operations. Frasers acknowledged Harvey Nichols requires extensive restructuring. The 193-year-old retailer reported turnover falling 11% to £69.4 million for the year ended March 2025, whilst operating losses widened from £14.4 million to £177.9 million. It was Harvey Nichols' fifth consecutive loss-making year. Frasers CEO Michael Murray said meaningful change is needed, warning of tough decisions ahead. The acquisition extends Frasers' luxury portfolio, which includes FLANNELS, The Webster and HULCAN's MILE.

Frasers boss warns Labour's business rates raid is stifling high street investment

Frasers Group chief executive Michael Murray has criticised Labour's business rates overhaul, warning it is forcing retailers to cut high street investment. The April revaluation of the tax system, based on shop property values, resulted in higher bills for thousands of chains. Murray said spending millions on store refurbishments only to face increased tax bills "makes zero sense". He also opposed Andy Burnham's proposal for a 20% business rates discount for pubs and music venues, funded by higher taxes on large retail warehouses. Despite the challenging environment, Frasers continues expanding its physical retail presence. The company has invested heavily in larger Sports Direct stores, shedding its discount image through refurbishments and adding premium brands.

Frasers Group acquires Greaves Sports, ending 94-year Glasgow family retail legacy

Mike Ashley's Frasers Group has acquired Greaves Sports, one of Scotland's last independent specialist sports retailers. The deal ends the Greaves family's association with Glasgow's retail industry, which began in 1930. Greaves currently operates from a single store on Gordon Street. The family previously ran a popular Sauchiehall Street shop until 2018. Frasers will continue operating the Gordon Street location under the Greaves brand. A supplier communication confirmed the acquisition, whilst Companies House documents show Greaves changed its name to Clydesdale Sports Retail Limited in June. The acquisition adds to Frasers' extensive retail portfolio, which includes Sports Direct, Flannels, GAME, and Evans Cycles. Frasers recently increased its stake in Hugo Boss to 30.28% following a €2 billion takeover offer in June.
