Requirements
  • Hands-on experience launching or managing an app in the Google Play Store (iOS App Store a plus), with a hunger to get results.
  • Deep knowledge of Android’s ecosystem (e.g., Kotlin, Jetpack, Play Store policies) and web browser technologies (e.g., Gecko, Chromium, privacy features).
  • Strong ability to analyze ANRs, crash rates, and acquisition data to improve performance and growth.
  • Habit of studying fast-growing apps and competitors to uncover retention and monetization strategies.
  • Experience or ability to grow users in markets like Europe, Japan, or Asia, with sensitivity to cultural and data plan differences.
  • Pushes for outcomes, and ships MVPs quickly, learn and iterate.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact features or products under tight deadlines, fueled by a passion for results.
  • Familiarity with user acquisition (e.g., ASO, campaigns) and data-driven decisions (e.g., A/B testing, funnel analysis).
Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and ship features for Firefox’s Android browser, aligning user needs, technical constraints, and company goals (e.g., privacy, performance).
  • Work hand-in-hand with engineers and designers, collaborating tightly with cross-functional teams, like data science to ship features fast and iterate based on user feedback and data.
  • Obsessively track new and competing apps through store trends, X/Twitter discussions, and hands-on testing (e.g., reinstalling apps to spot changes), fueling innovative Firefox features and UX.
  • Use Google Play Console to track app health (e.g., ANRs, crash rates) and optimize acquisition channels (e.g., organic, paid).
  • Support user acquisition and retention efforts, experimenting with ASO, store listings, and growth strategies to scale globally.
  • Adapt Firefox for international markets (e.g., Europe, Japan, Asia), understanding cultural differences and data plan constraints.
  • Relentlessly champion the Android user’s needs, using analytics (e.g., Play Console), Play Store user reviews, and insights to drive enhancements for the Firefox experience.
