TeachFX is an edtech startup with a mission of superpowering teachers’ work and advancing equity in the classroom. The TeachFX app uses AI to show educators personalized insights about the learning dynamics in their classroom. We help teachers understand which of their instructional practices -- their questioning technique, lesson design, or use of wait time, uptake of student contributions, and other high-leverage strategies -- are making the greatest positive impact on student engagement and equity in the classroom. We pair our app with inquiry-based professional learning workshops designed to build teacher capacity by leveraging TeachFX data in a continuous improvement cycle that brings research into practice and builds more student-centered classrooms. 

We are a growing, mission-driven team and are looking for a Product Designer who shares our passion for student engagement and equity in education. As a Product Designer at TeachFX, you’ll report directly to our Head of Product and contribute significantly to the design and overall direction of our innovative product and new products we may launch in future quarters. You will contribute to our design strategy, playing a key role in shaping the future of our product by interpreting user feedback, data, and business requirements to determine product design direction. We are a deeply mission-driven company, and we’re looking for folks who are eager to use their skills to power our mission.

We’ve been remote since the pandemic started and plan to support a remote-first work environment for all our team members for the foreseeable future. This role can be based anywhere in the US and will require travel on roughly a quarterly basis. 

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the product strategy, supporting a culture of creativity and critical thinking across teams.

• Serve as a leader in the development and implementation of the visual identity of our brand and products, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.

• Employ user-centered design principles to create intuitive and transformative user experiences.

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs and behaviors and determine the product design direction.

• Partner with the product and engineering teams to design, test, and build delightful and engaging user experiences.

• Create, test, and validate design hypotheses through rapid iteration.

• Create wireframes, storyboards, process flows, and UX prototypes to communicate designs and specifications.

• Write clear specifications to drive cross-functionally aligned implementation processes.

• Maintain tight feedback loops with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to maximize learning and insights.

• Create a collaborative and high-performing design culture as one of the first product designers on our small team.

Who you are: We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer who cares about social impact and has a strong track record of creating user experiences and designs users love. You might be a good fit if you:

• Manage projects with great organization and attention to detail. 

• Passion for using your time and skills to build a more equitable education system.

• Preferably have experience designing products for educators.
