Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
  • Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home.
Responsibilities
  • Travel nationwide for 13-week assignments and work in various settings.
  • Provide physical therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist to facilitate increased independence and functioning.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy under the direction of the physical therapist.
  • Deliver rehabilitation services effectively and efficiently while adhering to the established plan of care, department and patient schedules, and timely documentation requirements.
  • Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with each patient's needs and capabilities.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, identify issues, and report repair needs as necessary.
  • Ensure that patients and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes their needs and rights.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by the primary Physical Therapist.
  • Provide individualized physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, and electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
  • Organize and facilitate treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
