About the Role:
In this position, you will be Director of a new product offering for the Carbon compliance market. Working closely with a team of policy and data analysts, you will help to develop and provide a vision for this new OPIS carbon compliance product. This role will be pivotal in shaping our understanding of the global carbon markets and driving our emerging markets offering to new heights. You will report to the Head of Product Strategy.
You Will:
- Provide vision to the development and maintenance of short-term and long-term supply/demand models, pricing, and carbon allowance demand outlooks
- Work closely with the Director of Carbon & Emerging Markets Pricing on projects that require integration of pricing and fundamental analysis
- Manage the Carbon Analytics team and dedicated product manager
- Work with data analysts and the principle modeler to ensure that our econometric models are accurate and relevant
- Collaborate with the Carbon pricing team and Energy team to support a robust methodology
- Curate the production of a monthly deliverable as it relates to analysis of the Carbon compliance market
- Contribute to periodic research pieces on topical industry issues (i.e. regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, funds flows, technical analysis, project pipelines)
- Provide exceptional support to existing clients, focusing on expanding OPIS’ presence within client organizations and promoting our related services to meet annual growth goals
- Travel regularly for visits with existing clients, as well as internal and external Carbon conferences
You Have:
- At least 12 years’ experience in the Carbon markets/industry
- Team leadership experience which includes providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering professional growth and expertise within the team
- Econometric modeling including but not limited to supply-demand modeling
- Experience producing comprehensive written market analyses and well-founded forecasts for quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc analyses
- Conducted sales calls, integrated client visit programs, established connections with industry associations, and delivered market presentations at client meetings and industry conferences
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics/business, or related field
- Master’s of Business Administration (preferred but not mandatory)
