Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field.
  • Broad-based knowledge of the healthcare industry, including Group Purchasing Organizations, Integrated Health Networks, and distribution.
  • Three or more years of experience in finance, commercial analytics, strategic pricing, contract analysis, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems.
  • Experience with group membership.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and SAP systems.
  • Leadership qualities including a customer-centric approach, global mindset, results orientation, collaboration, candor, and speed.
  • Excellent analytical capability and written and oral communication skills, with motivation to learn and teach.

Responsibilities
  • Administer group membership activities for Group Purchasing Organizations, Integrated Health Networks, and other miscellaneous customer groupings.
  • Support department and sales leadership in managing contractual relationships and driving revenue through a multichannel distribution model.
  • Work closely with management to deliver premium customer service and drive revenue growth through data analytics.
  • Advocate for systems and tools that improve efficiency and organizational value in membership management.
  • Assist other team members in meeting deadlines and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Perform validation tasks and analyze spend and contract data to determine proper customer pricing while using stakeholder relationships to protect company interests.
  • Update and maintain SAP with Group Purchasing Organization, Integrated Health Network, and miscellaneous customer group affiliation changes for compliant contracts and pricing-tier requirements.
  • Guide the membership team through day-to-day tasks and help ensure that membership activities meet deadlines.
  • Review discrepancies, provide standard work resolutions, and implement change-management practices.
  • Maintain an accurate membership-information database used for sales reporting, Group Purchasing Organization fee payments, and sales incentives.
  • Implement customer migrations in a timely manner and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply corporate financial policies and establish and maintain internal control procedures within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and act as a liaison between Contract Management, Pricing, Chargebacks, Field Sales, and Distribution.
  • Support day-to-day membership tasks, including performing membership audits as applicable.
  • Develop customer reports and tools for the Sales Team to track, analyze, and report Group Purchasing Organization contract-related pricing effectiveness, and train the team to use these tools and reports.
  • Assist Senior Contract Managers with migration analysis for end users changing Integrated Health Network or Group Purchasing Organization affiliations and draft simple contract documents.
  • Drive team results through effective pricing and tier recommendations, accurate and timely support of chargeback and rebate processes, and accurate and timely implementation of Group Purchasing Organization contract pricing.

Owens & Minor taps ex-mckesson executive as CEO. Healthcare products distributor Owens & Minor named a longtime medical supply executive as its new top leader, succeeding interim leader Christian Cook as the company continues operating as a standalone business under Platinum Equity ownership. Owens & Minor has appointed Jim Marshall as its new CEO, adding a veteran healthcare and medical products executive to lead the distributor's next phase Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Health Systems at McKesson, where Owens & Minor noted he helped drive double-digit growth across revenue, profitability and market share. Prior to that, Marshall spearheaded McKesson's U.S. Pharma operations unit as VP and General Manager.
