Requirements
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and delivering large scale platforms and products
  • 4+ years of technical software development leadership and people management (preferably Full stack)
  • Engineering expertise with Java, Spring, Node.js, RESTful APIs, JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React), HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, large-scale distributed and highly available services and platforms. and hands-on in development activity
  • Practical experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers
  • Solid knowledge of design patterns and engineering best practices
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts to engineers and business partners
Responsibilities
  • Organize, lead and contribute to engineering efforts while demonstrating total ownership of features, projects, modules, and services
  • Contribute to the design and development of existing and new infrastructure projects, and foster a team environment that promotes creative thinking and practical problem-solving
  • Work by and with individual contributors to make informed and thoughtful architectural decisions that ultimately benefit our customers
  • Be a steadfast advocate for clean and scalable coding principles and high-performance, secure, reliable software services
  • Be a champion of quality - strive to continuously invest and innovate in the space of testing and certification methodologies
  • Confidently collaborate with and drive consensus between cross-functional individual contributors and leaders across all levels
  • Search for, identify, and share techniques and methodologies that advance the overall excellence of the PayPal SMB organization
  • Contribute to and elevate our hiring practices and processes to find, hire, and retain top engineering talent across various disciplines and diverse backgrounds
  • Create and uphold a culture of high-performance, high-satisfaction engineering and product excellence
