Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Meetings & Events, Conference & Banqueting, Event Management, or Sales within the hospitality industry in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong knowledge of banquet and event operations.
  • Experience with hotel property-management systems and sales and catering systems such as Opera Cloud, Anis, Cvent, or Passk.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prepare event proposals, contracts, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Strong organizational and project-management abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and team-management capabilities.
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, target, and develop new Meetings & Events business opportunities for the hotel.
  • Develop business from corporate accounts, government entities, destination management companies, professional conference organizers, event agencies, associations, and other potential MICE partners.
  • Conduct regular external sales calls, client appointments, sales blitzes, networking activities, and client entertainment to generate new MICE opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective, tentative, and definite MICE business and follow up consistently to maximize conversion.
  • Identify new prospect accounts and prepare individual account action plans with clear revenue potential and conversion objectives.
  • Proactively target business for hotel need periods and low-demand dates in coordination with the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue team.
  • Assess group business to maximize contribution from available public space, generate room revenues, and achieve Meetings and Events budgets.
  • Yield all leads before the offer letter is sent in terms of venue assignment or rates offered, seek the required approval to take the booking, and pay particular attention to area setups.
  • Ensure that the Sales and Catering property-management system is well managed, maintained, and updated according to company policies and standards.
  • Supervise and communicate with Meetings and Events Operations during events and assure guest satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Maintain a sales-call pattern averaging 25 calls per week.
  • Provide entertainment for a minimum of two accounts per week.
  • Establish and maintain histories for every account within assigned market segments.
  • Seek intelligence information from accounts and competitors.
  • Interact and liaise closely with Front Office, Reservations, Food and Beverage, and Banquet and Conference departments.
  • Assist with sales blitzes coordinated by the Assistant Director of Sales.
  • Solicit and service both corporate and group business.
  • Arrange hotel site inspections.
  • Coordinate and communicate closely with the international sales office regarding request-for-proposal accounts and markets serviced by Outbound Sales, where applicable.
  • Maximize upselling opportunities whenever possible.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
  • Experience in a four-star or five-star hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of successfully planning and executing corporate events, conferences, weddings, and social functions.
  • Professional certifications in Event Management or Hospitality Management are advantageous.
  • Additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, German, French, or other international languages are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
