Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in prototype development, debugging, and testing in a lab environment
  • Experience with FPGA design for embedded systems, including Verilog and VHDL
  • Experience with board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
  • Experience with documentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)
  • Experience with source control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Familiarity with additional software languages (C, C++, Python)
  • Familiarity with system and functional requirements generation
  • Familiarity with Brushed/Brushless DC Motor control
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink
Responsibilities
  • Support the FPGA scope of development, design, test, and manufacturing of electronic Motion Control products
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams to implement FPGA-based control systems
  • Own individual design tasks, participate in design reviews, document designs, and interface with customers in a technical role
  • Review the work and tasks of more junior engineers
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
  • Experience with radiation hardening and mitigation techniques for FPGAs (SEU, TMR)
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Familiarity with digital, analog, and mixed signal design
  • Familiarity with design analysis and simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation)
  • Familiarity with linear and switch mode DC/DC power conversion
  • Familiarity with signal and power integrity (SI/PI)
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
