Requirements
  • Doctorate in School Counseling or a related field; ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment; for Associate Professor rank, scholarly output must be commensurate to rank; strong record of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals (commensurate with experience) and seeking and/or securing external grant funding; ability to teach in areas that complement/strengthen our programs; State of Texas School Counselor Certification or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Teach face-to-face and online graduate courses; offer a reduced teaching load (2-2 for the first 2 years) plus research funds and conference travel money to new tenure-track hires to focus on research and publishing; course release may be provided to Associate Professors based on research productivity; mentor students; provide service on departmental, college, university, and professional committees; require face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
