Requirements
  • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering is required.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer in at least one state with the ability to apply for reciprocity in others where needed.
  • At least 10 years of related work experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license and driving record in good standing are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Geotechnical Expert and Technical Advisor to project teams and clients on geotechnical aspects of landfills and other facility design, construction quality assurance, soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental engineering projects.
  • Measure and predict settlement.
  • Provide slope stability modeling for new and old landfills, embankments, and excavations.
  • Conduct geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations for waste management facilities and other environmental projects.
  • Site and design new and expanding landfills and support regulatory permitting.
  • Design and prepare construction specifications for remediation, energy production, landfill, and other waste management facility projects.
  • Provide recommendations for structural design of foundations for various types of facilities and equipment.
  • Design and plan construction quality assurance activities for construction projects to verify compliance with design and permit requirements.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new projects.
  • Provide geotechnical education and training to SCS staff.
  • Develop and implement customer-centric solutions with the team.
  • Develop relationships with technical experts throughout the company.
  • Support proposals by working with project managers and clients to understand their goals, technical needs, and requirements.
  • Attend conferences, present on technical topics, and participate in professional associations and committees as appropriate.
  • Take a leading role and present at internal technical meetings.
