  • Experience working in small teams, ideally in startups, with willingness to contribute across multiple areas.
  • Experience with embedded systems, including the ability to write C/C++ and understand hardware-level operation.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for algorithm development, data analysis, and test scripting, including common artificial-intelligence coding tools and their pitfalls.
  • A strong foundation in control systems.
  • Experience with sensor integration and validation, including inertial measurement units, encoders, force sensors, or similar systems.
  • Ability to work at the Skip Bay Area office at least three days per week.

  • Contribute to machine-learning-based methods across simulation, training, labeling, on-device inference, sensor-data collection, and testing.
  • Support and contribute to hardware-in-the-loop and on-body test frameworks that validate system behavior across real-world conditions, including device provisioning and factory bring-up.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software teammates to define interfaces, resolve cross-disciplinary tradeoffs, and identify integration failures early.
  • Contribute to system architecture decisions for current and future products, including the Parkinson's device and future Movewear platform.
  • Wear prototypes several hours per week to participate in data collection and on-body testing and provide feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with wearable robotics, exoskeletons, or prosthetics.
  • Knowledge of motor control, including field-oriented control for brushless direct-current motors, and actuator characterization.
  • Experience with embedded Linux.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Controller Area Network.
  • Experience with deep learning, especially for robotic systems.
  • Experience with actuator characterization and integration.
  • Familiarity with FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems.
