Requirements
  • Be a foreign graduate from a non-US-accredited college or school of pharmacy before beginning the US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate Training Program at CVS.
  • Have FPGEC certification.
  • Obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing required US internship hours.
  • Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
  • Successfully complete the required US internship within 18 months and complete and pass all required pharmacist licensure examinations and processes within 120 days of completing the internship hours.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Concentrate on tasks over a period of time and pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
  • Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
  • Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
  • Use active listening by giving full attention, understanding points being made, asking appropriate questions, and not interrupting inappropriately.
  • Use mathematical reasoning to determine tablet quantities, days' supply, and the number of bottles needed to fill prescriptions.
  • Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action.
  • Remain mobile and upright for extended periods, lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend the hands and arms in multiple directions, control precision when adjusting machines, and stoop to move items.
  • Perform close visual-acuity tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and reading or visually inspecting small parts.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds or exert up to 20 pounds of force; frequently lift up to 10 pounds or exert up to 10 pounds of force; and consistently exert negligible force to move objects.
  • Express and exchange ideas through spoken communication when conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, and receive detailed oral information.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by a supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities
  • Follow company standard operating procedures at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Serve patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and by telephone with empathy and personalized care; offer immunizations and other services where appropriate; and solve or escalate patient problems.
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, and obtain patient medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where permitted by state regulation.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories.
  • Apply clinical and technical knowledge to assist patients and contribute to a high-performing, safe, inclusive, and engaging team.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS policies, and procedures related to patient safety, controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping, privacy, and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntary staffing at offsite clinics, where lawful and supported by required training and certification.
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status where permitted by state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report adverse-reaction events according to public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information and track and document it for each applicable patient.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

AbbVie acquires Apogee Therapeutics for $10.9B amid pipeline expansion

CVS Health Q2 earnings beat expectations, partners with Eli Lilly on weight loss drugs

CVS Health reported second-quarter net income of $2.98 billion, or $2.31 per share, significantly beating analyst expectations of $1.85 per share. Revenue rose 7% to $106.10 billion, surpassing the forecast of $100.11 billion.
