Requirements
  • At least 2 years of full-cycle closing sales experience, ideally in software as a service or software, with a demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota.
  • Experience building and running outbound sequences using Apollo, Sales Navigator, or similar tools alongside inbound demo volume.
  • Comfort running a high-volume, demo-driven sales motion with substantial activity and deal velocity.
  • Strong discovery and objection-handling skills, with the ability to sell value and outcomes to buyers who are not evaluating technology for its own sake.
  • Experience or genuine comfort selling to mission-driven, budget-conscious buyers in nonprofits, government, healthcare, or education, including the ability to build urgency and justify price without becoming transactional.
  • Disciplined pipeline and customer relationship management hygiene, including accurate and current HubSpot data, reliable forecasting, and follow-through on next steps.
  • A track record of taking structured coaching, including call reviews, scorecards, and scripting, and visibly improving from it.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both a single volunteer coordinator and a broader buying committee.
  • Resilience and self-direction in a fast-changing environment, with the ability to adapt quickly as pricing, packaging, and processes evolve.
Responsibilities
  • Run a full-cycle sales process from discovery through close by qualifying inbound and sales development representative-set demonstrations, leading consultative value-first demonstrations, handling pricing conversations and objections, and closing.
  • Build roughly 30% of the opportunity pipeline through outbound campaigns incorporating calling, emailing, and LinkedIn strategies.
  • Carry and hit a monthly quota based on annual contract value and closed-deal volume, with a weekly pipeline review and forecast cadence.
  • Build and protect a healthy pipeline through outbound prospecting, sequence follow-up, and reengagement of past closed-lost opportunities.
  • Run demonstrations and discovery from the volunteer’s point of view using Better Impact’s established demonstration methodology and closing checklist.
  • Use discovery to surface the prospect’s own urgency and apply approved urgency and pricing frameworks consistently.
  • Keep HubSpot pipeline data accurate and current, including deal stage, next steps, decision maker, budget holder, and close date.
  • Partner with sales development/business development representatives and Customer Success on clean handoffs and customer onboarding expectations.
  • Stay current on product, pricing, and competitive positioning, and bring field feedback back to the team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling into nonprofits, volunteer programs, healthcare systems, higher education, or government/municipal buyers.
  • Experience with volunteer management, case management, corporate social responsibility/environmental, social, and governance, or other mission-driven or compliance-adjacent software-as-a-service categories.
  • Experience selling through a merger or major pricing and packaging change while staying productive.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot as a sales customer relationship management system.
  • Experience with a structured sales methodology such as MEDDPICC or Sandler and comfort working from a defined closing checklist.
