Probabilistic Risk Assessment @ Last Energy

Last Energy seeks an experienced Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) Engineer to support the safety and licensing analysis for the PWR-20 micro nuclear reactor. This person will work closely with the safety analysis and licensing staff to ensure a robust process of development risk analyses, and to communicate risk insights to support the optimization of systems and component design for safety and reliability for the PWR-20 design.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Develops and maintains PRA models of nuclear plant design and operational capabilities by logic and sequential modeling of fault scenarios and using PRA tools and methods to quantify and evaluate accident sequences
Interfaces with other disciplines to advance risk-informed designs, developing insights and conclusions from analyses
Participate in and support interfaces with customer and regulatory authorities to obtain regulatory approval of the Last Energy safety case
Prepare and review safety analyses, calculation files, and associated records

Qualifications

MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering
5 years cumulative experience in executing PRA, Accident analysis, Severe Accidents, Source Term assessments
Demonstrated understanding of Importance Analysis, Uncertainty Analysis, and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis
Applied experience in development of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 PRAs
Extensive experience with PRA logic model and quantification codes, such as CAFTA
Experience with international nuclear safety standards and practices
Detailed knowledge in PWR operation and safety analysis
Positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships
Effective written and oral communication skills
