Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is required.
  • Knowledge of credit union products, services, account insurance, account vesting, consumer loan products, credit union documents, reports, policies, procedures, and real estate lending principles and practices is required.
  • An understanding of branch profitability factors, including revenue generation, cost management, and operational efficiency, is required.
  • The ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently while maintaining productivity under pressure is required.
  • The following must be obtained within 6 months: Notary License, Teller Training, FSR certification, New Accounts and Membership Officer Authority, Consumer Lending, Real Estate Lending Training, Mortgage Loan Originator license with the NMLS, Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor certification, and Operational Excellence training.
  • An understanding of sales management, coaching, leadership, and ongoing staff motivation is required.
  • A background in financial services, including consumer and real estate lending practices and processes, is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • The employee must be willing to work at other branches as needed.
  • The employee must be able to work extended hours as business needs necessitate and a schedule that may include most Saturdays.
Responsibilities
  • Build knowledge of Credit Union products and services to advise and advocate for members, understand their needs, and provide solutions.
  • Assume responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of branch sales and service operations.
  • Ensure member satisfaction through excellent service and execution of daily Member Experience protocols according to established standards.
  • Support retail branch sales goals through personal selling of financial products, including new accounts, consumer loans, and real estate loans, and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Provide leadership in workforce management, loan quality, cash management, and branch audits to enhance the member experience.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in developing and reviewing the budget to drive branch profitability.
  • Ensure branch security protocols are followed, open and close the branch according to set hours, and test security equipment.
  • Support hiring, training, and coaching of staff under the supervision of the Branch Manager.
  • Seek new business relationships with business owners, consumer prospects, finance professionals, and community leaders.
  • Develop strategies with business partners and marketing to expand segment and market share and drive branch profitability.
  • Partner with business partners to meet member needs.
  • Represent assigned retail branch offices and the Credit Union in community activities and promote the Credit Union's brand identity and goodwill.
  • Adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC regulations.
  • Acquire and apply skills in preparation for advancement to a Branch Manager position.
  • Report to work on time as scheduled.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Previous sales management experience, specifically as a banker or loan officer, is a plus.
  • Experience using the Symitar Data system is a plus.

House Hearing On Cfpb Blasts Agency’S Structure And Claims Regulatory Overreach

Critics of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) said Wednesday (March 26) at a Capitol Hill hearing that the agency needs a restructuring, and has engaged in what they call “regulatory overreach” that merits a revisiting of its funding structure as well. The hearing, before the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, was titled “A New Era for the CFPB: Balancing Power and Reprioritizing Consumer Protections.”. In his opening remarks, Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., chair of the subcommittee, stated that “nowhere has overregulation and overreach” been as sharply in evidence at the CFPB.  He heralded the present era, under the new administration, where “those in charge prioritize administrative law over regulation by enforcement, avoiding extortionary civil investigative demands (or CIDs).”  Barr underscored legislation he’s recently introduced to restructure the CFPB, including the TABS Act, which would shift the funding structure to the congressional appropriations process
