Requirements
  • A Civil Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
  • One to two years of land development and/or municipal design experience.
  • Relevant internship experience.
  • Experience in commercial, subdivision, and site plan design.
  • Strong work ethic and motivation to succeed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a flexible approach to work assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, primarily using Civil 3D and related applications, for assigned land development and municipal engineering projects.
  • Prepare road designs and final grading for urban residential development projects.
  • Develop engineering drawings and designs for land development and related water resources projects.
  • Participate in the full-service design of civil and municipal engineering projects.
  • Design stormwater management, site grading, sanitary sewer, and water distribution systems for subdivision and land development engineering projects.
  • Interpret topographic information required for design.
  • Perform site and lot grading.
  • Complete technical analysis of municipal infrastructure components.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Compile as-built records for design and record drawings.
  • Prepare contract documents for project tendering and execute project design drawings.
  • Prepare grading, servicing, erosion and sediment control plans, details, and technical drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D for municipal infrastructure, land development, and site development projects.
  • Prepare Functional Servicing and Stormwater Management Reports supporting Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Applications.
  • Prepare water and wastewater servicing calculations for proposed land development projects.
  • Prepare stormwater management quantity and quality calculations.
  • Coordinate designs with the consultant team, including architects, landscape architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, traffic consultants, hydrogeologists, and geotechnical engineers.
  • Prepare formal response letters to approving agencies addressing development engineering comments.
