- Three (3) to six (6) years of insurance defense experience handling matters involving heavy trucking/tractor trailer and cargo and freight carriers.
- Admitted to practice in Michigan is a plus.
- Comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings.

- Defend trucking industry clients, including freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long and short haul truckers, and waste management groups engaged in intra-state and interstate transportation.
- Handle litigation and trial work with issues such as negligent hiring and retention, hours of service, Engine Control Module data, messaging and positioning data, Department of Transportation compliance, and accident reconstruction.
- Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings; draft and argue motions; take and defend depositions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on trucking transportation matters.
- Admission to practice in Michigan is a plus.
- Experience and familiarity with Engine Control Module data, hours of service, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction is preferred but not required.
