Oura is seeking a commercial attorney to join the legal team. In this role you will work in our Legal Department’s Commercial team and support other cross-functional teams to guide contracts through the review, negotiation, approval, and signing process. In addition to the qualifications below, you should be naturally inquisitive, enjoy learning, and have the ability to work successfully with all of our teams. This role will report to Oura’s Associate General Counsel, Senior Director of Commercial Transactions.
What you will do:
- Negotiate, draft, and review a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, MSAs, SOWs, SaaS, marketing, partnership and professional services agreements, inbound and outbound contracts, data use agreements, NDAs, and research collaboration agreements.
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of standard forms, trainings, legal processes, and systems to help us scale with the business and maximize efficiency and velocity.
- Manage risk and ensure business and compliance needs are accurately reflected in agreements.
- Support the Company in solving complex legal issues and advise on other general corporate matters as necessary.
- 3+ years of experience at either a large law firm or in-house legal department with experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- A strong understanding of commercial legal concepts and strong drafting and contract negotiation skills, with an exquisite attention to detail.
- Experience advising clients on and managing numerous deals on tight deadlines.
- Active membership and good standing with the California Bar.
- Previous in-house experience at a technology company preferred.
- Ideally well-versed in technology contracting, with an eye towards risk, privacy, and regulatory issues.
- Familiarity with DocuSign and other contract management tools.
- Practical experience in the healthcare or wearable device field.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Region 4 $124,950 - $130,475
