Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Department of Transportation, and Environmental Protection Agency regulations as well as other state/federal safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently and manage safety programs effectively.
  • Proficiency in developing training and educational materials and with various training methodologies and online learning platforms to effectively engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a high production environment (50+ hours per week, including nights and weekends) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
  • Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Power BI, as well as familiarity with related technology to enhance learning communications.
  • Strong organization and administrative recording skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and seek guidance on complex situations; acts as a subject matter expert in two or more elements of the safety and health management system.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • The role requires the ability to deliver on-site and online safety training and manage training programs across multiple sites, coordinating with safety leadership, operations management, and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct onboarding for new team members including drug testing, Workday information collection, and delivery of new hire and site-specific safety orientation content.
  • Execute safety training and educational content tailored to the Company and project site, utilizing interactive, video, hands-on teaching methods and delivery formats (in-person, online, or blended learning).
  • Develop educational materials such as manuals, guides, presentations, Safety Talks, and handouts to support operations managers and team members, ensuring consistent safety messaging across locations and facilities where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Safety leadership and operations management to measure learning outcomes, gather feedback, and evaluate effectiveness to improve or adjust educational information and training.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all training and education, including attendance records, training materials, evaluations, and participant feedback; ensure team members meet safety training and certification requirements; generate reports to assess training effectiveness and inform future initiatives.
  • Facilitate on-site safety training, as well as online learning.
  • Work with Safety leadership and operations management to identify and mitigate training-related risks and incorporate risk mitigation strategies into training and materials.
  • Collaborate with safety leadership, operational management, and subject matter experts to develop specialized content for specific training and educational needs.
  • Utilize multimedia tools and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance learning communications, materials, and overall experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • 3 to 10+ years of experience in safety and health in the construction industry preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification preferred.
  • GSP, ASP, CSP or CHST designation preferred.
