Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years experience required; 10+ years is preferred
  • At least five years of experience with designing electrical power systems for new or upgraded buildings
  • Must be fluent in NFPA 70 NEC
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
Responsibilities
  • Prepare design packages (including electrical design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates) for renovation projects such as replacement and installation of HVAC, electrical power service, emergency generator, surge suppression, lightning protection, grounding, bonding, control systems, and telecommunications systems
  • Conduct technical reviews of design packages created by others to assess compliance with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), electrical codes, and regulations, as well as end-user requirements
  • Provide technical input to proposal development for renovation projects
  • Support design process from concept through delivery of completed design package
  • Prepare technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as requirements or the basis of design
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external, and the design team (e.g., engineering department, manufacturing department)
  • Serve as a project manager and/or design manager on some assigned projects
Desired Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required
  • Experience with the design of energetics-related safety systems (e.g., bonding & grounding, lightning protection systems) is preferred but not required
  • 10+ years is preferred
