Requirements
  • Experience as a data cable technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience.
  • Industry-specific certifications such as BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Belden, or Corning are desirable.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and on-call periods.
  • Willingness to travel regionally within a 2- to 4-hour radius daily, with occasional longer-distance and extended travel requiring hotel stays.
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions to complete service and installation work.
  • Strong customer relationship and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify cable colors and learn color codes.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to operate a boom or scissor lift.
  • Possession of basic telecommunication tools, personal protective equipment, and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated conviction within the last three years.
Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various cabling infrastructure.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and performing limited conduit work.
  • Tie and bundle cables neatly according to safety regulations.
  • Install cable support structures such as J-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
  • Conduct tests to ensure newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in low-voltage cabling, smart-hands network replacement, telephony, closed-circuit television, and point-of-sale equipment.
  • Experience in conduit installation.
  • Industry-specific certifications such as BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Belden, or Corning.
