Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in health promotion, public health, higher education, college student affairs, or a related field
  • At least two (2) years of experience related to health promotion. Previous experience working in college health promotion
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively
  • Demonstrated experience in student personnel management and ability to motivate students
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating health education or student programming in a variety of modalities such as in-person, hybrid, and virtual settings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-informed health promotion and student development models
  • Demonstrated ability to center the narratives of historically marginalized communities and use an intersectional lens in prevention work and educational efforts
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Wellbeing and Health Promotion team and the Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Team to develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs, events, and services for undergraduate students
  • Work collaboratively with the Health Promotion Team and the Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Team, students, and campus partners to plan, implement, and coordinate programs and initiatives for a new campus wellbeing space in Healy Ground floor which is opening Summer 2025
  • Work collaboratively with the HES Team and student leaders to establish a newly opened Wellbeing Space on campus, planning and implementing supplies and activities for the space, soliciting ideas for programs, setting policies and procedures for use of the space, coordinating events, and planning and maintaining a calendar for events
  • Lead the ongoing planning, implementation, and evaluation of an informed, inclusive, accessible, and welcoming health promotion and peer education program, while focusing on fun, educational and positive experiences for participants
  • Help to oversee and coordinate programs, services, and resources for the new campus wellbeing space in Healy
  • In collaboration with other HES colleagues, facilitate the hiring, ongoing training, supervision, and mentorship to develop peer educators into effective leaders and team members in all aspects of their lives. Collaborate with HES partners and other campus partners on training and implementation
  • Create opportunities for health promotion student staff to engage in applied/integrated student leadership opportunities
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for students to increase levels of responsibility, develop new skills, and advance as peer educators
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ACHA standards of practices and the demonstrated ability to incorporate these standards into role
  • Experience providing education on topics such as mental health and personal health (sleep, sexual health, alcohol and other drug issues, physical health, nutrition), interpersonal violence
  • Experience supervising college student peer programs
  • Experience using office management systems, including but not limited to Google Workspace, Mentimeter, Canvas, and Excel
  • Experience using social media as a tool to reach a broader audience
  • Assessment and research skills (e.g., research design, survey development, environmental assessment, focus group design and facilitation, data analysis and interpretation, etc.)
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or CHES eligible; possible other related certification such as Public Health
