Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Eight to fifteen years of experience in the water/wastewater discipline, particularly as a water/wastewater engineer designing studies, plans, and specifications for water and/or wastewater infrastructure such as treatment and collection/distribution projects.
  • Progressive experience in evaluating, designing, permitting, and providing construction administration for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems.
  • Proven project management experience, including monitoring and controlling budgets and schedules.
  • Professional technical writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective client presentations and prepare detailed written reports.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • A valid PE license and experience coordinating with municipalities and governmental regulatory agencies are required for the role.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in and lead project teams in planning, designing, and administering construction for municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.
  • Engage in client interactions and deliver presentations.
  • Coordinate project activities and the work of technical staff and consultants.
  • Develop and implement study and design standards.
  • Lead progress meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and track project schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate and communicate with municipalities and governmental regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee construction contract management and observation services.
  • Prepare technical reports and permit applications.
  • Mentor junior-level engineers to support their professional growth.
  • Participate in conferences and other industry events to remain actively involved in the water and wastewater engineering industry.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in client relations and business development is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
