Requirements

  • Candidates must remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable, and recognize effective guest experience behaviors.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics, identify opportunities, take action to improve results, align the team on appropriate behaviors and execution, celebrate wins, and elevate the guest experience.
  • Lead daily and weekly workload execution for receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales-floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms, and price changes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Educate the team on how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
  • Assess reporting to identify gaps in General Merchandise processes and assist in developing plans for the direct leader to review and approve.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns while aligning with business priorities.
  • Help establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to those expectations.
  • Lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work accurately when applicable, assess fulfillment reporting, identify gaps, and assist in developing improvement plans.
  • Ensure products are in stock, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor while prioritizing guest experience.
  • Collaborate with all teams and leaders to identify key priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready.
  • Relay relevant Target communications, trends, and product information to team members during team connection moments.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, and close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Identify team members for future leadership positions and use growth development to build a departmental talent pool.
  • Support guest services such as backup cashier and digital fulfillment processes while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches and creating equitable experiences.
  • Follow Target policies, safety procedures, food-safety guidelines, and pricing guidelines, and report and correct workplace hazards.
  • Lead safety-culture execution by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Execute physical-security processes and support merchandise-protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application, as directed by best practices.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when acting as a key carrier.
  • Assume store-level Leader on Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts when applicable.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
