Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consortium-wide accounting and reporting support for SEARHC and its subsidiaries.
  • Support financial audits, general accounting activities, and assigned accounting projects.
  • Streamline accounting processes and procedures and reduce non-value-added activities and procurement costs.
  • Support annual budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Participate as a collaborative member of the finance team and communicate financial activities throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Information Systems, Legal, and other corporate support departments.
  • Control expenses without compromising quality.
  • Ensure the integrity of key financial reporting systems, including fixed assets.
  • Support integration of new business units and implementation of new technologies.
  • Improve the end-user experience with accounting processes, including grants and fixed assets.
  • Support external audits and collaborate with auditors to compile fixed asset schedules, grant expenditures, and other analyses.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports.
  • Support general accounting reporting, including grant accounting, fixed asset accounting, and patient revenue accounting.
  • Assist with annual financial statement and other annual audits.
  • Work with the Accounting Manager to establish policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Develop and lead the fixed asset tracking process, including cost tracking, performance, and reporting.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in month-end financial activities, including patient and grant revenue accounting and subsidiary-module reconciliations.
  • Build relationships with external auditors, reimbursement consultants, bank representatives, investment advisors, actuaries, financial advisors, vendors, community affiliations, tribal organizations, consultants, and healthcare providers.
  • Contribute to consortium-wide budget creation and execution, financial policy direction, reporting, and regulatory interpretation.
  • Interact with the SEARHC Boards of Directors, leaders, and employees.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical projects and initiatives assigned by the Director/Controller.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • A degree concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare, tribal, and nonprofit clients is preferred.

Juneau Youth Services provides emergency, residential, and community-based behavioral health care for children, teens, and their families in Alaska. Services are tailored and strengths-based, delivered in home-like, least-restrictive settings where trained caregivers and clinical professionals form therapeutic relationships to support youth development and family functioning. The programs operate under the Teaching Family Model and focus on keeping or reunifying children with their families when appropriate.
