Requirements
  • A two-year degree or training is required.
  • Construction engineering experience or knowledge is required.
  • Beginner knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and standards applicable to the project is required.
  • The ability to assume responsibility and interface and communicate effectively with others is required.
Responsibilities
  • Meet daily with project crews to review the production schedule and confirm that all materials, equipment, and resources are available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist with shop drawing analysis, design specifications, material requirements, and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
  • Provide technical input for the project work plan and schedule, identifying production, material, equipment, or process risks that could negatively affect the budget or schedule.
  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to track project performance accurately, and document daily activities using company-approved methods and technologies.
  • Submit accurate project quantity inputs and controls using assigned project cost coding, and manage cost coding with company finance and accounting teams for employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
  • Review and approve daily timecards for company construction crews, working with the office manager, payroll, and job construction supervisors to resolve timecard inquiries as needed.
  • Review project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during project work, and after work is completed.
  • Initiate and manage certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.
  • Work with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout on the project site, ensuring that utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins.
  • Initiate and manage permits needed before work can begin.
  • Conduct required Job Hazard Analyses to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for construction personnel.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings with the field team and project leadership, presenting field analysis as needed.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews as needed.
