Requirements
  • A university degree or post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • One to three years of progressive professional experience in a corporate tax, accounting, or trust analyst role.
  • Intermediate proficiency utilizing Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet rigid deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and diplomatic interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous organizational habits, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate client tax files, including tax directions, filer IDs, and authorizations, and request updated documentation as needed.
  • Audit and balance client disbursements in the system, research imbalances, and coordinate tax adjustments across departments.
  • Submit accurate and timely Receiver General payments to the Canada Revenue Agency and route Internal Revenue Service tax remittances according to regulatory timelines.
  • Perform user testing on tax systems and operational processes, identify inefficiencies, and submit formal change requests to leadership.
  • Create, balance, and audit information returns for final filing, and coordinate manual tax forms and mandatory annual regulatory mailings.
  • Update and maintain tax lot reporting data in the Cost Basis system, meet compliance timelines, and escalate high-risk issues.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, standard methodologies, and legislative requirements, and provide professional communications regarding tax inquiries and management reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working directly within a specialized Cost Basis system or managing complex tax lot reporting.
  • Familiarity with transactional processing guidelines specific to the Canada Revenue Agency (Receiver General) and the Internal Revenue Service.
