Requirements
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in backend, platform, or developer-facing tooling.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Golang.
  • Experience shipping developer-facing tooling where the primary user is another engineer.
  • Understanding of GitLab-style development workflows, including issues, epics, merge requests, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and code review, as first-class artifacts that automation can read and reason about.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional environments across multiple platform teams.
  • Experience with structured content systems, schemas, or validation tooling.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the Platform Readiness team's agentic workflows on the Duo Agent Platform by designing, implementing, and evolving the Core Agentic Workflow and Requirements Agent for automated evaluation of platform readiness assessments against platform requirements.
  • Contribute to schema design, validation tooling, and continuous integration systems for the platform requirements knowledge base, ensuring the schema captures platform readiness concerns across all four platforms and domains.
  • Build integration surfaces that enable feature teams to engage the Platform Readiness team through issues, merge requests, design documents, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Data platform teams to translate their expertise into structured platform requirements, domain skills, and validation logic.
  • Design systems that surface assessment errors, missed gaps, and content drift back to the governance loop for continuous improvement, and measure and improve assessment accuracy and guidance relevance.
  • Mentor engineers on agentic-workflow standards, prompt discipline, evaluation methodology, and human-AI collaboration in platform readiness.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and architectural decision records documenting the team's technical evolution and rationale for key design choices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with AI or agentic systems such as DAP, ADK, LangGraph, or similar, or the ability to reason rigorously about the boundary between AI decisions and human ownership.
  • Experience integrating with large language model APIs and reasoning about cost, latency, evaluation, and failure modes.
  • Background in developer experience or platform engineering.
  • Experience with governance patterns for shared standards and cross-organizational decision-making.
  • Open source contribution history in platform, developer experience, or AI infrastructure.
  • PostgreSQL or other relational database experience at scale.
  • Experience shipping agentic workflows in production and handling the operational complexities of AI-driven automation.
  • Experience designing schema-driven content systems with non-engineer authors and evolving them as requirements change.
  • Experience building developer platform teams at scale and understanding how to enable other engineers.
  • Observability and monitoring experience for AI systems, including evaluation metrics, cost tracking, and failure analysis.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts such as agentic workflows, platform readiness, and governance clearly to platform teams, feature teams, product managers, and executives.

GitLab provides a unified DevOps platform that brings together the tools needed for software development, including code hosting, collaboration, CI/CD, issue tracking, and security, all in one application. It works by offering a single subscription-based platform where teams can plan, write, test, review, and deploy code through automated pipelines, reducing the need to manage separate tools. This differs from many competitors that require using a collection of separate products; GitLab consolidates these capabilities into one integrated solution, helping teams work more efficiently. The company’s goal is to help organizations speed up software delivery and improve collaboration by simplifying the DevOps process and continuously updating the platform with new features and improvements.

GitLab releases single-tenant AI and security suite for regulated enterprises

GitLab has released version 19.3 and expanded its Duo Agent Platform, allowing enterprises to run agentic AI inside single-tenant environments whilst managing credentials across their software development lifecycle. The update enables regulated organisations to deploy AI and security workflows within strict audit boundaries through GitLab Dedicated environments. The move addresses compliance requirements for data-sensitive customers but introduces potential complexity and cost challenges as the company scales AI features. GitLab's investment case hinges on whether AI tools like Duo Agents can drive upgrades and usage amid intense competition and slowing customer growth. The company's narrative projects $1.5 billion revenue and $186.3 million earnings by 2029, requiring 15.3% yearly revenue growth.
