Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other efficiency tools, is required.
  • A valid driver's license and insurance are required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • The candidate must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • The candidate must be able to perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
  • The candidate must be able to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The candidate must be able to operate office equipment such as telephones, computers, a 10-key, photocopiers, and fax machines.
  • The candidate must maintain strong attention to detail, remain organized, multitask, work under pressure, interact with a wide range of people, and provide excellent customer service.
  • The candidate must be able to work with multiple teams and varying skill sets.
  • The candidate must be able to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Drive occupancy and revenue by marketing available units, qualifying prospects, and converting leads into executed leases.
  • Establish trust and rapport with prospective residents through professional, responsive communication by phone, email, and in person.
  • Apply persuasive communication and follow-up strategies to guide prospects through the leasing process, resulting in completed applications and secured deposits that meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply LIHTC and/or HUD program requirements, including eligibility screening, waitlist management, and documentation standards.
  • Operate within Fair Housing laws and company policies, ensuring equitable treatment of applicants and accurate compliance-driven processes.
  • Coordinate early lease-up activities, schedule appointments, and support cross-functional teams from inquiry through move-in.
  • Manage high-volume inbound and outbound communications across multiple channels, ensuring timely responses, clear documentation, and appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate data entry, records, reports, and tracking systems to support leasing operations, audits, and program compliance.
  • Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate challenges or delays to supervisors.
  • Monitor local market conditions and competitor activity to inform leasing strategies and support occupancy goals.
  • Participate in outreach activities and prospect meetings across assigned geographic areas to build applicant pipelines and community presence.
  • Support team objectives and perform additional duties as needed.
  • Travel for projects when needed, potentially up to 35% of the time outside the Portland Metro area.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in affordable housing and leasing operations is highly desirable.
  • Completion of LIHTC and/or HUD training courses within three months of hire is required, with a passing score.
