What you’ll do:

• Partner with program management and business teams to solve for customer needs 
• Conduct competitive and industry research to understand the needs, pain points, and use cases of our customers 
• Work at the intersection of design and development to translate product requirements into design specifications, user journey maps and workflows 
• Design low-fidelity mockups and rapid prototypes for user testing and iteration 
• Lead customer reviews, and usability events to gather feedback and data on design effectiveness 
• Design and execute human-factors centric experiments focused on evaluating performance and trust in autonomy for DoD customers. 
• Projects that you might work on (optional): 
• Design, implementation, and test of Mission Planning UI/UX 
• Design, implementation, and test of Mission Debrief UI/UX 
• Multi-vehicle collaboration UI/UX (Group 3 and Group 5 UAS) 

Required qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience. 
• Expertise in DoD-constrained UI/UX practices.  
• Experience with Git and code management tools.  
• Passionate about designing high-impact human-machine teaming solutions. 
• Strong technical collaboration skills and a desire to develop new skills.  
• Excited by a fast-moving environment with a highly motivated group. 

Preferred qualifications:

• User Experience degree 
• Human Factors degree 
• Human Computer Interaction degree 
• Portfolio showcasing at least two product design pieces 
• Experience with in aerospace and/or robotics industries 
• Experience with team leadership, or as a technical project lead
