NetBird, a Berlin, Germany-based provider of an open-source private network platform, raised €1.1M in Pre-Seed funding.Backers included Nauta Capital, Antler, Rheingau Founders, as well as, Jan Oberhauser (CEO and founder of Sequoia-backed source-available company n8n.io), Emma Tracey (Founder and ex-Chief Marketing Officer of honeypot.io), and Mario Goetze. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, further develop the technology, and make it available across other platforms including mobile, serverless, and others.Led by CEO Misha Bragin, and CTO Maycon Santos, NetBird is an open-source network management platform built on top of WireGuard, which allows computers, devices and servers to connect to each other directly over a fast encrypted tunnel without configuration nor a centralised VPN server. It makes private networking secure and creates a private network, applying security practices without manual configuration and an expert. NetBird network universally works in the cloud, on-premises, edge and container environments leaving behind the hassle of opening ports, complex firewall rules and VPN gateways.FinSMEs03/05/2023
