Requirements
  • Seven or more years of expertise and hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager solutions in a large enterprise environment.
  • Seven years of experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager; experience with versions 14 or 15 is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco voice gateways, including VG410, VG420, and VG450.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager best practices and security, including Transport Layer Security, Secure Real-time Transport Protocol, and certificates.
  • Senior-level knowledge of Call Manager, Unity Connection, Session Initiation Protocol trunking, Public Switched Telephone Network connectivity, and call routing.
  • Familiarity with third-party integrations such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Internet Operating System routers, switching, and Cisco Unified Border Element.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications, including wiring, cross-connects, demarcation points, and circuits.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise-level voice solutions, including Call Manager, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, and Voice over Internet Protocol endpoints.
  • Configure and support Cisco Unified Communications Manager clusters, voice gateways, and endpoints in a multi-site environment.
  • Configure and support Session Initiation Protocol trunks to ensure optimal call routing among sites and the Public Switched Telephone Network.
  • Provide Tier 3 and advanced-level investigation and troubleshooting of complex voice issues across enterprise voice environments.
  • Monitor and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager cluster health, performance, and availability across the enterprise; document voice issues and recommend actions for adverse findings affecting cluster health.
  • Provide support to internal support groups such as the Project Management Office, Network Operations Center, and Installations.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Information Assurance groups to ensure the security and integrity of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and alignment with standards and compliance requirements.
  • Lead enterprise voice-related projects, migrations, technology refreshes, deployments, and implementations.
  • Support planned maintenance activities such as system patching, vulnerability management, and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate and perform as both a team member and an individual contributor.
  • Provide cross-training across enterprise voice teams at Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels.
  • Develop and maintain system designs, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure enterprise Cisco Unified Communications Manager high availability, failover, and contingency capabilities.
  • Research, investigate, and resolve voice incidents and outages, and provide status updates using appropriate incident-handling, management, and ticketing systems.
  • Participate in industry-partner technology research, evaluations, and solutions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA Voice, CCNP Collaboration, or CCIE Collaboration.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager versions 14 or 15.
  • Ability to mentor.
