  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • CPR and MANDT are required; training is provided by the employer.
  • At least two years of clinical experience is required, preferably in behavioral healthcare, phone triage, telehealth, case management, or a combination of education and experience.
  • The employee must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination and provide positive employment references.
  • The employee must be able to multitask and prioritize work using strong time-management skills.
  • The employee must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained periods, walk, pull, lift, raise, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; perform finger grasping and repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions; perceive physical characteristics and sounds; and communicate ideas orally accurately or quickly, potentially at a loud volume.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients hospitalized with psychiatric or emotional disorders on the Senior Adult and Adolescent units.
  • Support the hospital's program philosophy of care and support, maintain a therapeutic milieu, communicate continually with nursing staff, and participate in patients' plans of care.
  • Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths and suggesting treatment-plan modifications based on observations of patient behavior.
  • Provide input during shift reports and discharge planning.
  • Implement patients' treatment plans by monitoring progress and communicating behavioral information to other treatment-team members.
  • Maintain communication with patients, family members, and referral sources in the patients' interests.
  • Co-facilitate didactic, educational, and community groups within the adolescent treatment program and encourage patient participation in therapeutic activities.
  • Supervise patients to ensure their safety and involvement in treatment and during transport.
  • Maintain the therapeutic milieu, and enforce the level system or other behavior-management methods.
  • Maintain patient, program, department, and related documentation.
  • Orient new patients to the unit, program, and milieu.
  • Carry out general nursing assistance as assigned and supervised by the nurse in charge.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living when consistent with their treatment plans, needs, ages, and developmental levels.
  • Carry out clerical and administrative assignments supporting patient care and department and hospital operations.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and uphold the organization's ethics and customer-service standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital is preferred.
  • Registration as a Registered Behavioral Technician or certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
