Requirements
  • Experience with tactical or embedded Department of Defense systems, including hands-on security or software integration work with radar systems, missile defense systems, avionics or flight control systems, C4ISR equipment, electronic warfare systems, tactical communication systems, or other forward-deployed mission systems.
  • Design security architectures for resource-constrained and real-time systems.
  • Understanding of hardware security constraints in tactical environments.
  • Experience integrating commercial security products into government platforms or weapon systems.
  • Knowledge of operational security considerations for forward-deployed systems.
  • Deep knowledge of Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements, frameworks, and processes, including the Risk Management Framework, Anti-Tamper, Cyber Survivability, and Zero Trust.
  • Experience developing security artifacts beyond checkbox compliance.
  • Understanding of cryptographic implementations and key management in operational contexts.
  • Ability to map security requirements across different frameworks.
  • Experience interfacing with platform security engineering personnel and accreditation authorities.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and government stakeholders.
  • Experience working on-platform or in test labs with actual hardware and software.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Integrate products into security architectures.
  • Develop security solutions that work within the constraints of forward-deployed systems, including SWaP limitations and real-time requirements.
  • Create security artifacts, including Attack Trees for operational systems, Key Management Plans for product or system cryptographic implementations, and System Security Plans for fielded platforms.
  • Map security requirements across different customer frameworks, including 800-53, Anti-Tamper, Cyber Survivability, and Zero Trust, and translate them into implementable technical solutions.
  • Interface with platform security personnel and accreditation authorities to support authorization processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Active Secret or TS clearance.
  • Implementation of Trusted Platform Module and Secure Boot technologies.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating system internals in embedded or tactical contexts.
  • Understanding of real-time operating system security considerations.
  • Experience with weapon system or tactical platform security requirements.
  • Security testing methodologies, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, for embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of security assessment tools, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, and fuzzing, applicable to tactical systems.
  • Experience with security requirements for embedded systems or kernel/driver software.

Nightwing, an intelligence solutions company, has partnered with ProCustom Group to launch rugged laptops with integrated cybersecurity solutions. The new portfolio features PCG's customised commercial off-the-shelf rugged devices pre-installed with Nightwing's Boot Shield and Electronic Armor technologies. The integrated platform combines rugged notebooks with Intel AI-enabled processors, hot-swappable batteries and sunlight-readable displays alongside Nightwing's cyber resiliency tools. Boot Shield prevents boot-level attacks and firmware code injections, whilst Electronic Armor protects sensitive applications and data. The partnership aims to deliver secure computing solutions for mission-critical operations in extreme environments. The upcoming product range will include ruggedised laptops from 11 to 16 inches with customisable configurations. ProCustom Group specialises in environmental and electromagnetic hardening of ruggedised technology for military and aerospace applications.
