Requirements
  • Current working knowledge of computer-aided design software, including relevant Autodesk products, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and other discipline-specific software.
  • Knowledge of relevant risk management issues, including contractual terms and technical feasibility.
  • Proven technical and business writing skills.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a drug and background test.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor computer-aided design standards and procedures to meet client needs and align with company goals.
  • Provide oversight regarding computer-aided design solutions and software.
  • Propose enhancements to and manage computer-aided design technology, procedures, and execution strategies.
  • Perform project management duties for applicable projects and manage associated staff as necessary.
  • Provide consultative guidance, suggestions, and solutions to accommodate design needs and maximize project efficiency through existing and new software.
  • Create Autodesk Construction Cloud projects and maintain the company’s Autodesk Construction Cloud space.
  • Develop and implement procedures using building information modeling best practices and remain current on Autodesk applications.
  • Train and oversee computer-aided design users and VDC Technicians in core application skills and standards.
  • Facilitate training and development.
  • Define the computer-aided design roadmap and strategy to achieve business goals.
  • Develop and manage the computer-aided design design-execution strategy, including creating a BIM Execution Plan.
  • Evaluate team members for technical skills, performance, and productivity, and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Monitor adherence to computer-aided design rules and procedures.
  • Attend computer-aided design industry events.
  • Identify computer-aided design improvement opportunities and promote company growth.
  • Plan the utilization of computer-aided design resources and identify qualification or improvement needs.
  • Interview candidates who will use computer-aided design software and provide technical feedback.
  • Monitor and manage computer-aided design support services and company accounts.
  • Facilitate correspondence between the company and computer-aided design software providers.
  • Provide project support for design bids, proposals, scopes of work, estimates, and schedules.
  • Allocate tasks to VDC Technicians, Information Technology staff, and department team members when appropriate, and coordinate capable team members to execute computer-aided design initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee content development, including best practices, external content resources, and specification development.
Desired Qualifications
  • Six or more years of heavy industrial experience.
  • Familiarity with process design for specialty chemical, food, pharmaceutical, power, and industrial clients.
