Material Technologies is expanding its reach into B2C with the launch of DesignShop. DesignShop is reinventing the home design process by taking the most exciting elements of Pinterest and combining them with a massive library of home design materials from hundreds of the country’s best brands, all of which are instantly available for overnight sampling. DesignShop’s shoppable inspiration is highly accurate and when coupled with its hyper-realistic interactive design tools, allows users to create beautiful scenes comprised of any material in its library. DesignShop is seeking a Lifecycle Marketing Lead to help lead our launch into the B2C home design market. This is a unique opportunity to build from the ground up, involving the creation and execution of innovative marketing strategies and creative tactics to attract, convert, and retain users within this fiercely competitive landscape.
As Lifecycle Marketing Lead, you’ll own the communication strategy with our users at every stage of the funnel via email marketing, SMS/MMS, and onsite marketing strategy and execution. This role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive lifecycle marketing strategies across the pre- and post-purchase customer journey, including traditional ecommerce tactics and highly creative and nuanced reengagement strategies. This role will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other Marketing leaders to unify the customer journey, establish audience strategies, conduct A/B testing, and track, report on, and optimize performance.

What you’ll Do:
- Email Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and manage end-to-end email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, content creation, deployment, and performance analysis leveraging marketing automation platforms and reporting tools.
- Create and/or source compelling and personalized email content that engages and converts customers.
- Optimize email campaigns through A/B testing, segmentation, and performance analysis to drive higher open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
- SMS Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Design and implement SMS marketing campaigns to effectively engage with customers through their preferred communication channels.
- Develop targeted SMS campaigns that are timely, relevant, and compliant with industry regulations.
- Monitor and analyze SMS campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to improve results.
- Onsite Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Own the strategy and execution of onsite marketing initiatives, including personalized website experiences, pop-ups, and banners.
- Collaborate with the web development and design teams to create cohesive and engaging onsite experiences that drive conversions and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize customer data and behavior insights to optimize onsite marketing tactics and improve user experience.
- Marketing Automation & Tooling:
- Manage and optimize marketing automation tools to execute and track email, SMS, and onsite campaigns.
- Set up and manage customer journeys, workflows, and triggers to ensure timely and relevant communication throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in lifecycle marketing and user engagement, continuously evaluating and adopting new tools, technologies, and strategies to maintain a competitive edge
- Performance Analysis & Optimization:
- Analyze campaign performance data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and insights on email, SMS, and onsite marketing performance to key stakeholders.
- Continuously test and iterate on campaigns to improve effectiveness and achieve marketing goals.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Proven track record of 6+ years in lifecycle marketing roles, with experience in developing and executing lifecycle marketing strategies within the B2C sector; ecommerce or tech experience a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data sets, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaign performance and drive business results.
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms and marketing automation tools, such as Klaviyo, Braze, Hubspot or Mailchimp, with hands-on experience building and deploying email campaigns and automations; Braze experience in particular a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and storytelling that resonates with target audiences and drives engagement and conversion.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy, ensuring all email campaigns and communications adhere to brand guidelines, messaging standards, and legal requirements.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment and working independently to drive results and achieve business objectives.
