What You’ll Do 

• Develop and Manage a team of Epidemiologists, Biostatisticians, HEOR scientists and related quantitative sciences that provides scientific expertise to our Real World Evidence, Clinical Research and International Business Units 
• Proactively drive the strategic direction and priorities for the Quantitative Sciences team based on Flatiron’s needs
• Support the growth of the Quantitative Sciences team: hire, develop, and mentor team members; participate in the development of processes and best practices for the team; proactively plan for the future by identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks, gaps, and risks as Flatiron continues to grow
• Collaborate with our cross-functional teams to identify scientific needs and projects to support Flatiron’s business needs 
• Collaborate with our Business Units to identify and agree on quantitative science profiles required to support Flatiron’s needs, resources needs and resources allocation 
• Engage with potential clients to understand their Real World Data (RWD) and  Real World Evidence (RWE) needs and translate that into the QS strategic direction
• Act as a subject matter expert on Flatiron’s offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the oncology research priorities and evidence generation needs of our biopharma research collaborators
• Develop and manage relationships with the external research community. Serve as the Quantitative scientific point person at client meetings, scientific meetings, and industry events

Who You Are 

• You have a PhD degree in a Quantitative Science related area or equivalent related degree and/or experience, plus 15+ years of experience in the clinical research and product commercialization process, with progressive management experience
• You have experience leading a growing team, are extremely thoughtful about management style, culture and leadership, and have the flexibility to work well with a team of diverse backgrounds and interests
• You have significant experience using real-world data to solve problems across the pharma product lifecycle
• You have deep understanding and awareness of the industry’s latest and upcoming innovations and technological breakthroughs in the Evidence Generation space
• You have worked in a matrix-structured environment with multiple product lines
• You have knowledge of FDA and other Regulatory Authority processes and regulations
• You are able to handle multiple tasks concurrently, to meet ongoing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• You have effective organizational, presentation, documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a matrixed team
• You are able to implement, control and understand productivity measures and have a good understanding of financial controls
• You are an effective communicator, both oral and written
• You are able to travel up to 20-40% of the time, as needed

Extra credit

• You have direct oncology experience
• You have experience working with EHR-based RWD
• You have experience in a Contract Research Organization or Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology company
