Requirements
  • Knowledge of EPIC software; may be required to be EPIC super user.
  • Meets all training and competency requirements.

  • Possess analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates proficiency of all MA clinical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, responsible for the coordination of daily activities for Medical Assistants to ensure optimal clinical flow.
  • Provides interpretation and instruction for policies, procedures and practices.
  • Coaches performance of Medical Assistants.
  • Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions.
  • Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient the UT Health Way.
  • Provides schedules for staffing at respective clinic and provides support for staff and clinicians.
  • Coordinates scheduling of patient tests, ensuring follow-up appointments with physician are scheduled.
  • Provides in-service training and acts as a preceptor; coaches and assists with performance evaluations for medical assistants.
  • Participates with leadership team to ensure effective clinical operations.
  • May document patient exams in electronic health record, noting specifically the exam components, diagnoses, treatment plans, orders, and medications.
  • Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
