The Payments Acceptance and Merchant Payment teams at Wepay owns the core payments business logic that enables merchants to to run their business successfully. This includes accepting payments, issuing refunds, collecting payouts, and charging fees. Our team is at the heart of payments processing, interacting with many downstream systems to perform risk verification, ledger money movements, bank account verification and credit card authorization. As an engineer on our team, you will work on releasing both critical product features and infrastructure/scalability improvements. As a payments business, the features that we build will unlock new capabilities for our customers and allow our business to go after new markets and new customers. In addition, conquering technically challenging problems in scalability will allow us to meet the demands of our customers as we expand to new markets.
What You Will Do:
- Innovate, design and build software systems that power new features and unlock new capabilities on our payments platform.
- Release business critical features that will enable WePay to enter new markets
- Develop robust, well-instrumented and intuitive APIs to process payments, payouts, fee calculations and payments servicing
- Scale WePay’s APIs to handle WePay’s future growth and adhere to SLAs
- Design + build new micro services and new architectures to improve the robustness, flexibility, and capacity of our payments processing platform
- Work with engineers across the organization to execute on new opportunities in payments
What We are Looking For:
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3+ years of development experience
- Experience designing and building distributed applications, working with micro services and Rest APIs
- Passionate about engineering and operational rigor
- Open-minded, flexible, and have a pragmatic approach to solving problems
- Take complete ownership over the entire project and drive it to completion
- Passionate about building great productsExperience building, operating, and troubleshooting APIs and micro services
- Programming experience in Java & Python
