Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.

  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable and prompt attendance is necessary.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable and recognize strong guest experience moments.
  • Review guest, financial and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve results, align the team on effective behaviors and execution, celebrate wins and elevate the guest experience.
  • Lead daily and weekly workload execution for receiving products, merchandising, signing, setting and updating merchandise sales floor displays, sampling, restocking shelves, organizing backrooms and price changes for General Merchandise areas.
  • Educate the team on how merchandise organization, product accuracy, stock levels and sales floor maintenance affect inventory management, store profitability and product availability.
  • Assess reporting to identify General Merchandise process gaps and assist in developing plans to resolve them for the direct leader’s review and approval.
  • Serve as an expert in operations, accuracy, process and efficiency.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations with guidance from the direct leader and hold team members accountable.
  • Lead pick, pack and ship fulfillment work accurately when applicable and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and assist in developing improvement plans.
  • Ensure products are in stock, available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor while prioritizing guest experience.
  • Collaborate with store teams and leaders to identify priorities and ensure the store is guest ready.
  • Relay relevant trends, products and Target communications to team members during team connection moments.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Model onboarding and learning best practices and help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
  • Identify team members for future leadership positions and use growth development to build a departmental talent pool.
  • Support guest services, including backup cashier and digital fulfillment processes, while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches and creating equitable experiences.
  • Follow Target policies, safety procedures and role-specific guidelines, including food safety and pricing; report and correct hazards and hold the team accountable for doing the same.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage and application, according to best practices.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level leader-on-duty responsibilities during assigned shifts based on store needs.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
