Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two to four years of inside sales or customer-facing sales experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets is required.
  • Experience with an enterprise resource planning system is required.
  • Working knowledge of sales processes including prospecting, quoting, negotiating, and closing is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to build rapport and present solutions confidently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in data entry and order management are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required to manage a high-volume account base and sales pipeline.
  • Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills are required.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing accounts through proactive outreach, regular follow-up, and solution-based selling.
  • Build long-term relationships with key customer contacts in Procurement, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Resolve customer concerns to maintain customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Prospect and qualify new leads through outbound calls, emails, and referrals.
  • Follow up on inbound inquiries and marketing-generated leads.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Conduct customer needs assessments and present tailored product and solution recommendations.
  • Own the quotation process from initial customer inquiry through final order entry in Epicor.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production Control, and Customer Service to prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Generate and deliver accurate sales quotations to customers.
  • Track submitted quotations and follow up with customers to close opportunities.
  • Enter confirmed orders into Epicor, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain organized records of quotations, orders, and customer communications.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and pipeline activity in the CRM system.
  • Provide regular updates on pipeline, forecasts, and account activity to sales leadership.
  • Participate in sales meetings, product training, and team initiatives.
  • Perform other responsibilities, initiatives, and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epicor is preferred.
  • Experience with a CRM platform such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar is preferred.
  • Experience supporting customers in the aerospace, defense, military, or government contracting industries is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, cable, or industrial products is desirable.
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes, Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement requirements, or work with prime contractors and government agencies is desirable.
