Requirements
  • Be a full-time University of Virginia undergraduate student with Federal Work-Study eligibility.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and discretion.
  • Enroll in either UNST 3910 or UNST 3920 if selected for the internship.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
  • Assist with key checkout and tracking procedures.
  • Provide visitor parking information and permits when needed.
  • Support faculty, staff, students, and visitors with administrative requests.
  • Maintain office records, files, and departmental resources.
  • Assist with departmental events, seminars, and special projects.
  • Perform other administrative and office support duties as assigned.
  • Assist staff with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Participate in a structured internship experience through the Internship Placement Program.
  • Attend the asynchronous co-curricular workshop series through Canvas if the internship course does not fit the student's schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • The Federal Work-Study internship is best suited for students in their second through fourth years.
