  • An ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in a discipline-specific field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an operating company or design firm setting is required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic exposure to applicable industry or regulatory guidance and local building codes is required.
Responsibilities
  • Interface with clients and external partners.
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on basic projects of limited complexity with some oversight.
  • Support construction activities, including responding to requests for information, reviewing submittals, developing punch lists, and preparing construction progress reports.
  • Participate in and contribute to squad checks to produce coordinated, high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Designer I personnel to translate engineering designs into the Revit model with oversight from the Lead or Senior Engineer.
  • Participate in basic project system design programming with support from the Lead or Senior Engineer.
  • Develop an understanding of the industry landscape, build relationships with vendors, and attend external industry events.
  • Delegate basic and fundamental tasks to entry-level and design staff and provide oversight of their work.
  • Author Basis of Design Reports.
  • Prepare Hazardous Material Summaries.
  • Prepare material balances.
  • Perform heat transfer calculations.
  • Conduct process simulation.
  • Prepare process descriptions.
  • Develop equipment specifications.
  • Perform hygienic piping design.
  • Prepare room cards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D design platforms such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • A high degree of proficiency performing or developing engineering calculations related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, or material and energy balances.
  • Basic experience conducting field surveys of existing conditions and resolving and reporting field issues.
  • Proficiency with basic internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination.
  • Proficiency with basic coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
