Requirements
  • 4–7+ years in product management, growth, or founder/operator roles in B2B SaaS or e-commerce (early-stage or small-team environments preferred)
  • Technically fluent: you can scope features with engineers, read API docs, and reason about tradeoffs - without needing to code
  • Demonstrated, habitual use of AI tools in real work - you should be able to show us, not tell us
  • Customer-facing by instinct: you like support conversations and demos, and you're good at them
  • Self-directed and structure-building: you've operated where the process didn't exist until you wrote it
  • Commercially literate: comfortable owning conversion metrics, pricing experiments, and revenue outcomes
  • Nice to have: Shopify ecosystem experience; experience directing remote/contractor teams
Responsibilities
  • Own the product: roadmap, prioritization, and direction for our senior full-stack developer and QA analyst
  • Be in the product's front line: handle merchant conversations, run demos and onboarding calls, and turn those conversations into roadmap insight and reviews
  • Drive conversion and expansion: revamp the in-product onboarding flow, improve install-to-paid activation, and run upsell motions into the existing base
  • Improve the operating layer: documentation, help-centre content, and lightweight process for a business that has run brilliantly on founder intuition
  • Use AI as a force multiplier across support, product specs, documentation, and data analysis - this is core to how the role works, not a buzzword

saas.group coordinates and grows independent SaaS businesses. It acts as a conglomerate that acquires healthy SaaS brands and supports them to reach the next level, leveraging the experience of industry veterans in entrepreneurship, investing, and product leadership. The group offers a founder-friendly path with flexible exit options: founders can pursue financial freedom through an exit or choose to stay on in a leadership role on their most exciting project. The company’s approach is documented for interested teams on its blog, which outlines its philosophy and process. Unlike firms that push for rapid, unconditional acquisition, saas.group emphasizes partnerships with founders and selective exits to align incentives. The ultimate goal is to accumulate and scale a network of independent SaaS brands to form a large platform of connected SaaS products.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • In March 2026, saas.group said portfolio ARR surpassed $100 million.
  • It targeted $125 million revenue through organic growth and more acquisitions.
  • DAKboard, Ayrshare, KingWebmaster, and Timebutler expanded the portfolio in late 2025.

What critics are saying

  • Integration across 25 brands strains management, especially after Ayrshare and DAKboard in 2025.
  • The model depends on finding profitable targets at 2x-3x ARR, limiting supply.
  • If acquisition flow stalls, growth collapses because organic expansion alone rarely justifies the platform.

What makes saas.group unique

  • saas.group buys bootstrapped SaaS businesses and keeps founder-friendly operators in place.
  • By March 2026, it had completed 25 acquisitions across 30 countries.
  • Its portfolio spans ScraperAPI, Tower, Prerender, Rewardful, DashThis, and INFOnline.

The eu-startups podcast | interview with Tim Schumacher, General Partner at World Fund.

The eu-startups podcast | interview with Tim Schumacher, General Partner at World Fund. July 16, 2026 In this exclusive interview, we sit down with Tim Schumacher, the visionary co-founder of saas.group and General Partner at World Fund, to explore the journey, philosophy, and future of his founder-friendly SaaS acquisition platform and his ClimateTech investments. Tim shares how saas.group evolved from its first acquisition, DeployBot, to a thriving ecosystem of 18 independent SaaS brands spanning 30 countries. He dives deep into the core values that drive saas.group's success: a commitment to preserving the bootstrapper mindset, fostering cultural alignment, and ensuring every acquisition is tailored to the founder's personal and professional goals. Tim also reflects on the unique challenges and opportunities in the SaaS acquisition space. He discusses why saas.group focuses on niche, revenue-driven companies often overlooked by traditional private equity firms, and how their model prioritises autonomy, transparency, and long-term partnership over purely financial metrics. From the importance of honest conversations about founders' motivations to the practicalities of due diligence and integration, Tim pulls back the curtain on what it takes to create a dream exit for entrepreneurs. Beyond SaaS, Tim's passion for sustainability and climate action shines through as he discusses his role as a General Partner at World Fund, a climate tech VC backing scalable, emissions-reducing technologies. He shares his perspective on the progress of decarbonisation, the role of technology in addressing climate change, and the lessons learned from building and supporting impact-driven ventures like Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees. As the conversation turns to the future, Tim paints a picture of the ecosystem he aims to cultivate over the next decade - one where founders retain their identity, teams thrive in collaborative environments, and businesses drive meaningful change. Key points. * The evolution of saas.group from its first acquisition to a global platform of independent SaaS brands, driven by a founder-friendly ethos and a focus on niche, revenue-focused businesses. * The critical role of cultural alignment and shared values in successful acquisitions, ensuring smooth integration and long-term collaboration. * saas.group's tailored, transparent approach to acquisitions, prioritizing honest conversations about founders' motivations and customising deals to fit their personal and professional needs. * The importance of the bootstrapper mindset- resourcefulness, efficiency, and a focus on monetization - as a defining trait for companies acquired by saas.group. * Insights into the challenges of acquiring companies, from managing price expectations to navigating due diligence and maintaining open, honest communication throughout the process.
