Requirements
  • At least 6 years of driving experience.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • A valid Class A commercial driver's license with 1 year of verifiable satisfactory driving record.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation, state, and federal laws.
  • Ability to read and write legibly.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • A sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematics functions and skills.
  • Ability to follow Department of Transportation, state, and federal laws, and company safety policies and programs.
  • Ability to work outdoors, including in inclement weather, on a daily basis.
  • Ability to sit and drive for up to 10 hours and climb in and out of the truck cab throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work around raw, live-animal odors.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment exceeding 85 decibels and around moving equipment.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Perform and document pre-trip inspections, including tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, and hoses.
  • Assist with loading and unloading the trailer as necessary.
  • Ensure the load is secure before movement.
  • Maintain proper equipment, time, trip, weight, and other documentation.
  • Clean and wash the truck as necessary.
  • Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation safety rules and regulations, company policies, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
