Summary:
The candidate will play an integral role within the Fixed Income Client Reporting & Portfolio Analytics team based in Chicago. This individual will be supporting the Non-Investment Grade Fixed Income portfolio management teams and will be responsible for compiling portfolio and market-specific materials, including institutional client reporting, bespoke institutional client exhibits, and portfolio/product analytics. The Analyst will partner with Portfolio Management, Client Service, IT, Marketing, RFP, and Legal teams. They will be involved in a variety of strategic and tactical initiatives with the ability to gain meaningful exposure to projects across various initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the firm’s Non-Investment Grade strategies with requisite depth to be able to develop client reports and client analytics.
- Produce monthly client reports and data for institutional and sub-advised clients.
- Serve as the primary contact for data on portfolio exposures and summary statistics, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Provide portfolio analysis and reporting for High Yield and Senior Loan portfolios.
- Develop proficiency in key reporting tools; develop report content and partner with IT to drive enhancements to the end-client deliverables.
- Participate in firm-wide, client service-related strategic initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality with client information and data.
- Stay updated with market trends and developments in fixed income markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Science, Math, or a related field preferred.
- 1-5 years post-graduate experience in a relevant field.
- Highly motivated team-player with a desire to work on a wide range of projects, collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teammates and subject matter experts, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of financial markets is preferred and interest in investment strategies and security analysis is a must.
- Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with programming (VBA, SQL, Python) is a plus.
- Experience in the development and construction of formula-driven spreadsheets, pivot tables, and macros.
- Analytical and comfortable working with and interpreting statistics and fixed income market data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accountability, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
