Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of six (6) years of Logistics/ Supply Chain Management, preferably in Healthcare Industry
  • Must have valid Texas Driver License
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Basic Math test, as established by Talent Acquisition, with a minimum score of 80%
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Basic Spelling test, as established by Talent Acquisition, with a minimum score of 80%
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Must be able to think critically and pay attention to detail while performing competing priorities
  • Ability to operate a RFID scanner and perform troubleshooting techniques

Responsibilities
  • Receives, manages, and replenishes all supplies in supply rooms and supply cabinets within assigned areas on a daily basis to prevent shortages while avoiding holding excess goods
  • Ensures products received for replenishment accurately reflect the products ordered; documents and resolves discrepancies and variances
  • Maintains quality control of products by ensuring packaging integrity, sterility and identification of expiration dates. Rotates inventory during the replenishment process as needed using the first in first out (FIFO) method as well as the first expiration first out (FEFO) method on all products with a limited shelf life storage or expiry date
  • Performs spot checks of on-hand inventory and inventory PAR levels in assigned supply locations by end of day to scan, identify and resolve any potential supply availability issues
  • Supports exceptional financial performance by maintaining appropriate floor stock for patient care areas, reviews utilization information and works with department representatives to ensure appropriate levels and type of supplies are maintained in each area
  • Conducts routine cycle counts, at the direction of leadership, and adjusts inventory records as appropriate
  • Reviews usage reports on a quarterly basis to identify low usage and no movement supplies; provides listing of low usage and no movement supplies to leadership with recommendations for corrective actions
  • Inventories, maintains, replenishes and audits medical supplies on all specialty carts ensuring appropriate supplies are available on the carts, audits documents and supply check lists to ensure carts are made ready for clinician/patient use in a timely manner
  • Maintain supply rooms in accordance with JCO and infection prevention standards, as well as performs routine quality checks of supply cabinets in assigned supply locations to ensure standardization and serviceability
  • Completes daily/weekly/monthly documentation and reporting of Key Performance Indicators and supply activities
  • Support supervisor and perform supervisory roles in the absences of leadership to maintain effective communication and performance expectations
  • Identifies ways to improve work processes using lean principles and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland
  • Project management experiences with the ability to lead a project. This includes providing direction and support to project teams and constant monitoring and reporting on progress of a project ensuring consistency with company commitment and goals
  • Ability to train peers and new employees in an effective manner using established training methods to conduct effective induction and orientation sessions by enhancing employees skills, performance, productivity and quality of work
  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing data from Med/Surg Distributors reports to interpret information relevant for backorders, fill/kill, and purchase orders to manage daily replenishment requirements
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all supplies stored on assigned floors. Report and monitor product changes, trials, conversions and recalls accordingly and adjust inventory based on understanding of clinical priorities and patient needs
  • Support continuous improvements by identifying ways to advance workflows and process re-engineering opportunities. Work with team members to recommend appropriate changes in process/approach and assist in executing communication plan to clinical staff
  • Promote a safe working environment by identifying situations that are unsafe and/or hazardous in nature and take action or recommend corrective measures to be taken so as to avoid accidents and reduce the risk of accidents within the workplace
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the inventory control area. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding
  • Performs other duties or participates in special projects as assigned. Including, but not limited to, some driving, assisting in delivery of STAT replenishment orders and equipment, assisting customers, and co-workers as needed or as requested by leadership
