  • Proven experience as a Data Modeller in the payments industry, particularly with issuer processors.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems, customer account management, card issuance and other related financial services.
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ELT processes and modern data architecture (lakehouse).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security standards in the financial industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support different domains of payment processing system.
  • Ensure data models are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Create data flow diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) to represent data structures and relationships.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, software engineers, product, and other stakeholders to gather and analyse data requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into data models that support payment transactions, card issuance, and other related financial services.
  • Establish and enforce data modelling standards and best practices.
  • Work with data engineers to implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity.
  • Work with data engineers to conduct regular data quality assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work with data engineers/analysts to analyse and optimize database performance to handle high volumes of transactions efficiently.
  • Work with data engineers/analysts to implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
  • Document data models, data dictionaries, and metadata for transparency and ease of use.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding data architecture and design decisions related to data models.
  • Ensure data models comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.
